Work package n°4 – ‘PowerUp Job-hunting Platform’
The PowerUp project job-hunting platform will establish a platform tailor made to the needs of former power plant workers that have lost their jobs or are in transition. The PowerUp project platform will be established and attempt to bring together former power plant workers, technicians and professionals from the broader energy sector, less skilled and qualified people from previously power plant regions that would like to be absorbed in the broader energy and renewables sectors, businesses that could include large energy enterprises but also local, smaller companies would be able to offer jobs for people with more technical backgrounds.
Furthermore, the job-hunting platform aims to inform the local community about the positive aspects of the transition in place and attract local businesses, as well as sectoral agencies and business associations. The latter will boost youth participation as they will find an open space of communication between people in-search for work and the business sector. Finally, considering that the project is focusing on the sustainable development goals, the platform would also attract environmental CSOs, which through informative campaigns will provide locally a wider understanding as regards the policy goals of the green transition and explain to people why this transition is important for their future.
